Comprehensive Eye Examination
The comprehensive eye exam includes ENTRY testing for:
VISION ERRORS
Searching for vision errors that result in blurry distance, intermediate, and near-focusing problems.
BINOCULARITY
To ensure the brain uses both the right and left eye equally and has no suppression of either eye.
COLOR BLINDNESS
Searching for color misperceptions that can reveal congenital defects or in relations with certain eye disorders.
NEUROLOGICAL SCREENING
Neurological screening of the pupil in each eye is to rule out any viral or organic brain dysfunction.
PERIPHERAL VISION
Peripheral vision screening is to make sure there is a wide range of side vision versus the limited "tunnel vision."
AND PATHOLOGY TESTING FOR:
a) cataracts which can affect central focusing
b) glaucoma which can affect peripheral vision
c) cholesterol deposits on anterior and posterior sections of the eyes
d) blood vessel anomaly to reveal hypertension or diabetes
e) eye pressure check to note increased tension onto the nerve in each eye
f) eye and eyelid infections that may not always reveal symptoms
